Guaranteed Admissions
Historic Guaranteed Admissions Agreement Signed with Prestigious HBCU Florida A&M University
Dr. Mathew Holton, Superintendent, and Florida A&M University Vice President of Student Affairs, Dr. William Hudson, signed our newest guaranteed admission agreement during the September Board Meeting hosted by Etiwanda High School! This makes the 11th agreement of its kind for our district. However, this one was historic as CJUHSD became the first district in our region and the state of California to sign a guaranteed admissions agreement with a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). Florida A&M University (FAMU) is located in Tallahassee, Florida and is one of the premiere HBCU’s in the country. Out of the 107 HBCU’s in our nation, U.S. News and Reports ranks FAMU as the #7 overall HBCU in the country and the #1 Public HBCU in the country for the last five consecutive years! With this agreement, All CJUHSD graduates who meet their minimum requirements will be accepted to FAMU. One of the amazing highlights of this agreement is the opportunity for our students to have out of state fees waived by FAMU for our students who meet certain qualifications. We are very excited to provide this amazing opportunity for all our students to attend this prestigious HBCU. This agreement, along with the previous agreements with Cal State San Bernardino, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Bakersfield, Cal Baptist University, University of Redlands, University of La Verne, Azusa Pacific University, Biola University, Grand Canyon University, and Fresno Pacific University continue to provide an advantage to the students of the Chaffey Joint Union High School District to pursue their dreams for the future!
