WATER SUSTAINABILITY

The Chaffey Joint Union High School District has made tremendous progress in reducing its water usage. In 2016, the District was awarded the Drought Hero Award from the Cucamonga Valley Water District. The District also received the qualified Water Efficient Landscaper Certification with a partnership with the Chino Basin Water Conservation District. Ongoing strategies have been implemented District-Wide to reduce, reuse, and recycle water.

Montclair High School’s historical identity lends itself perfectly to water sustainability and refined campus controls. The use of reclaimed water and weather sensitive irrigation controls has led to significant water savings. The school site conducts routine coverage checks to control water runoff. Montclair High School has also focused on reducing water usage by installing synthetic turf on the varsity football field and low flow flushometers in restroom facilities. The installation of water bottle filling stations in high traffic areas promotes the use of personal containers and the reuse of plastics.
