WATER SUSTAINABILITY
The Chaffey Joint Union High School District has made tremendous progress in reducing its
water usage. In 2016, the District was awarded the Drought Hero Award from the Cucamonga
Valley Water District. The District also received the qualified Water Efficient Landscaper
Certification with a partnership with the Chino Basin Water Conservation District. Ongoing
strategies have been implemented District-Wide to reduce, reuse, and recycle water.
The Chaffey Adult School Education Center exemplifies conscientious use of resources through
the maintenance and design of the campus. Creative planting provides a shady environment
which maintains moisture and reduces water loss. Routine coverage checks to keep water on
the landscape and off hardscape surfaces. The use of reclaimed water reduces the consumption
of potable water. Low flow flushometers have been installed in restroom facilities.
