Julie Prestsater is the Principal of the Chaffey District Online High School and also the Principal of Online Learning. In this role, she oversees the Alternative Studies Program.
The mission of Alternative Studies is to promote student learning and success where all are welcome. Students attend one day per week for a three hour block of time and focus their efforts on one subject at a time. They are encouraged to complete 6 to 8 hours daily on their assignments. Students have the potential to complete a course every 2-3 weeks depending upon their commitment and productivity. For many students the small independent learning environment allows them the opportunity to experience positive educational experiences. The District Alternative Studies Program is located at 1802 E. 7th Street, Ontario and each high school also has a site based program so that students can remain connected to their home school.
