Cary Willborn
Cary Willborn was appointed to the Board of Trustees in October 2022. He brings both experience and passion to this position. Cary is an inspirational educator and a true advocate for students and family.
 
Following high school, Cary attended Chaffey College then transferred to Cal State University, San Bernardino, earning a BA degree in Social Sciences. Cary attended Azusa Pacific University earning his teaching credential and a master’s degree in Special Education. He received his administrative credential at Chapman University. Cary started his career in CJUHSD teaching at Alta Loma High School.
 
Cary has been active in serving his community and growing impactful citizenship through sports and education for over 40 years. He has a passion for mentoring children of all ages and has coached from Little League and AYSO to college athletics, including football and track at Alta Loma High School and Azusa Pacific University football. Cary helped open Colony High School as a teacher and the first athletic director, where he was awarded New Athletic Director of the Year by CIF. Cary became the assistant principal for Ontario High School in 2006 and Principal in 2007. In 2014, he became principal at Rancho Cucamonga High School. He continued in that position until retiring in 2020. Cary was named Principal of the Year for ACSA (Association of California School Administrators), Region 12, Inland Valley Principal of the Year, and recognized as one of four principals honored nationally as Most Spirited Principal of the Year.
 
Cary is married to his wife, Kim, who taught science, including AP Biology, at Alta Loma High School for 32 years. They have two married children, Nate and Casi, and five grandchildren. Kim, Nate, and Casi are all graduates of Alta Loma High School.
