The Special Education Department offers a process called Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) that’s primary purpose is to build trusting relationships with parents and educators. The process addresses conflict and focuses on the needs of students. ADR uses communication, collaboration, negotiation, and mediation at the earliest possible level within a safe, collaborative, and supportive environment. The ADR process allows all involved to be creative and design solutions collaboratively, thus increasing satisfaction with the process and the outcomes.
